Axis SA ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Fartlek mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have.
In short: your workouts, plans and profile live on your device and in your own private iCloud database, which we cannot access; a workout you share by link is stored on our server so the link works. When you use the AI coach (Pete), the information needed for that request is sent through our server to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate a reply, and is not used to train AI models. The App asks for your permission before the first AI request, and you can withdraw it at any time.
When you track a workout, the App uses your precise GPS location to:
Storage: Routes are stored on your device and, if you allow it, saved to Apple Health. Your precise location is never sent to our server; only your city name may be included in AI coach requests (see section 2).
Permission Required: The App asks for location permission before accessing your location.
If you grant permission, the App integrates with Apple HealthKit to:
Use: Heart rate and energy from a finished workout are used by the AI coach to write your post-run feedback, only if you have agreed to share data with the AI coach (see section 2). HealthKit data is never used for advertising or sold.
We use Apple WeatherKit to show current weather conditions. Your approximate location is sent to Apple's weather service, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. Weather conditions are saved with your workout.
The App stores your workout history (date, distance, duration, pace, intervals, city, weather, your rating), your training plans, your runner profile and your coach's feedback.
Storage: This data is stored on your device and synced across your devices through your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit). We cannot access your private iCloud database.
Preferences such as favorite workouts, reminders and your AI coach choice are stored on your device.
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand how the App is used and to fix crashes. This may include screens visited, features used, crash and performance data, device model and OS version, subscription events such as a trial start or purchase (see section 1.7), and, if you installed the App from an Apple Search Ads ad, which campaign and search keyword it came from. We receive that ad attribution through Apple's AdServices framework, which does not use your advertising identifier or track you across other apps. Analytics events never include your messages, notes, location or health data.
Third Party: Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple tells the App whether your subscription is active, and we never see your payment details. When you start a trial or buy a subscription, the App records that event in analytics with the product, price, currency and Apple's transaction ID, so we can measure revenue and which of our ads lead to subscriptions.
If you send feedback from inside the App, we store your message together with the App version, OS version, language and your anonymous app ID (see section 2.3), so we can investigate the problem you describe.
When you share a workout, the App sends its name, description and structure (blocks, distances, times and effort targets) to our server, which stores it with your anonymous app ID (see section 2.3) so the link works. Anyone who has the link can see the workout; shared workouts are not listed or searchable anywhere. They never include your workout history, location or health data. If the App can't reach our server, it shares a longer link that carries the workout itself, and nothing is stored. Ask us and we delete a workout you shared.
Pete builds your training plans and updates them each week, creates and edits workouts in chat, writes feedback after your runs, and answers questions about your plan. To do this, the App sends the information needed for that request, which can include:
This information goes to our server (Google Cloud Functions, United States), which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the reply and sends the reply back to the App. Our server does not keep this content (see section 2.3).
Anthropic processes these requests as our service provider. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use data sent through its API to train its models, and automatically deletes it within 30 days, except content flagged for violating its usage policies, which may be kept for up to 2 years, or where the law requires otherwise. See Anthropic's data retention and Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
When you use the AI coach or share a workout, the App creates a random anonymous ID with Firebase Authentication. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID, and it is shown in the App's Settings so you can share it with us when you contact support.
For each AI request our server logs technical information: the anonymous app ID, which feature was used, response time, size of the request, errors, App version and device model, and for training plans, the structure of the generated workouts (session types, durations and intensities). These logs never include your messages, notes, photos, location or health data. Our cloud provider also records IP addresses in its request logs. All of these logs are deleted automatically after 30 days.
The App asks for your permission before the first AI request. You can withdraw it at any time in Settings → Privacy → AI Coach. Without it, the App keeps working with built-in training plans and post-run summaries that never leave your device, and the AI chat features are unavailable.
We do not sell your information, use it to show you targeted ads, or use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
We share information only with these service providers, for the purposes above:
We may also disclose information if required by law, or when necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Run reminders are scheduled locally on your device. You can turn them off in the App or in your device settings.
You can ask us to access or delete the information associated with your anonymous app ID (feedback you sent and our logs). Email us and include the app ID shown in Settings.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you also have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. We process AI coach data on the basis of your consent, and analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the App.
To exercise these rights, contact us at apps@threeaxis.xyz.
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the App.
